The countdown is on!

MIFA GALLERY announces a call for artworks for their May’s collective exhibition, open to emerging and mid-career artists working in any medium in the South Florida region and beyond. This group exhibition will be curated by Elkin Canas and Marco Caridad and will run from May 4 to 31. Please see the submission requirements below to apply.

Each artist must fill out the digital application HERE and pay the application fee at the bottom of this page. Both the application form and payment must be submitted before March 30th to be considered for exhibition. 

Artists may submit up to 3 artworks symbolizing their own vision of fertility, nurturing, and life cycle. Please include up to 2 images per work. Video projects, sculptures, performances or documentation of other time-based work can be submitted via a public YouTube or Vimeo link. Please limit these to no longer than 5 minutes in length. 

TIMELINE:

3/30 Open call application closes at 11:59 PM  

4/16 Applicants notified of their acceptance

4/20-4/25 Artwork drop off 

5/4 Opening 6-9pm

5/31 Exhibition closes 

6/1- 6/5 Deinstall / Artwork pick up 

SHIPPING AGREEMENT:

If you plan on shipping work please take note that work should be received at the gallery located at 5900 NW 74th Ave, Miami, FL 33166 by April 25. Shipping costs must be covered by the artist. A return shipment should be arranged for June 1st. An MIFA Gallery member can assist with return shipment, but shipment costs must again be covered by the artist.

PAYMENT:

The $15 open call entry fee supports the general operation of MIFA Gallery and the production of this show, which is otherwise funded by the Directors.
